The Amún Shéa Center for Integrated Development is the first endeavor of the Foundation. In the indigenous language of Lenca Potón, Amún Shéa means "Land of Seedlings". In that spirit, the Amún Shéa elementary school program commenced in February 2008 to help nurture a group of students from a disadvantaged, war-torn region of El Salvador. As 501(c)(3) registered public charity and a registered non-profit in El Salvador, the foundation is committed to enriching the community through education, and the school is already making an incredible difference with its students and in the municipality. The curriculum has been carefully designed to provide an exceptional, inventive, interesting learning environment to keep the students excited about the prospect of continuing their education. The program is designed to break the cycle of poverty, lessen the burden on future social programs, lower the emigration rates, and to generate productivity in the region by creating young people willing with ambition and initiative.
